In the beginning, Joe Kerby Auto Repair was simply a young man posting flyers for “Joe Kerby’s Mobile Auto Repair and Tune-Up” on cars in grocery store parking lots. He quickly became well-recommended around the South Bay area for his excellent work and honest approach. In 1980, he established his shop at 1410 Aviation Boulevard and has been there ever since, maintaining his high standard for quality repairs and open communication with his customers.
Our repair shop has advanced over the years, securing the latest technology to work on today’s high-tech vehicles. Joe, himself, has also progressed, maintaining a certified “Master Technician” status from one of the most respected certification programs in the nation. If you want your car worked on by the best—without the runaround—Joe Kerby Auto Repair is the shop for you.
Joe’s lived in Redondo Beach his entire life, and as resident, SCUBA diver, and fisherman, he truly values the California coastline. In addition, his oldest son has a PhD in Ecology, and his youngest son has a Masters in Environmental Science. Our family’s ethical code extends beyond just treating people well; it includes respecting our surrounding environment too.
With the family’s history and principles, Joe Kerby Auto Repair surpasses the requirements for environmental protection and safety. We do everything we can to reduce the impact of contaminants from vehicles we repair.
Often customers prefer new parts for their vehicles without considering the environmental costs involved. When car parts fail, it is typically just one component. Mechanics replace an entire alternator when it is often a small electrical component that has failed within the unit. Purchasing rebuilt parts is often cheaper to the customer and also serves to reuse parts directly.
Do you have kids? Joe has a treasure chest full of goodies for children. Ask him about it while waiting for your repair, service, or smog check! Contact us online to make an appointment or just stop on by.
